Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT)
The JIPMAT is a competitive exam for students seeking admission to the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management courses. It aims at producing contextually relevant, socially-conscious managers and leaders with a foundation of world-class education in social sciences followed by management education.
The Five-Year Integrated Program in Management (JIPMAT) is crafted to equip young professionals with robust managerial and decision-making skills through a cutting-edge academic approach that meets global standards. This holistic and multidisciplinary curriculum spans five years of full-time, on-campus education, meticulously blending science, social sciences, and management studies. The overarching goal is to meld management education with the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), fostering a seamless integration of knowledge areas. The program is designed to offer flexibility, allowing participants to commence their professional journey at any stage by opting out of the program. In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the curriculum is structured to nurture the full spectrum of human capacities-intellectual, aesthetic, social, physical, emotional, and moral-in a cohesive and comprehensive manner.
The JIPMAT program objectives are as follows:
- To enable students to understand India and the globe’s socio-economic, technological, ecological, and political environment.
- To impart knowledge & skills to students for their easy absorption at the entry-level managerial roles in the varied management functions across different industries.
- To equip students with the required conceptual and interpersonal skills for managerial decision-making in structured/unstructured environments.
- To build their leadership & team skills to enhance their performance in a cross-cultural environment.
- To develop socially responsible and ethical business leaders who can perform without compromising integrity, honesty, and fairness.
- To develop the ability to take risks and be entrepreneurial.
- To empower students to use relevant business knowledge, analyze data, think critically, solve problems, communicate well, be adaptable to the changing business needs and make decisions ethically and professionally.
Details of Examination
- Mode of Examination
- The examination will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
- Duration of Examination
- 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes)
- Medium of Question Paper
- The medium of the Question Paper shall be in English only.

- The Paper comprises Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the following areas:

Syllabus for JIPMAT
- Section A: Quantitative Aptitude
- Questions will be asked to test the understanding and application of various concepts up to class 10 Mathematics.
- Section B: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
- Data Interpretation – Questions will be asked to test the ability to interpret from the given dataset.
- Logical Reasoning – Questions will be asked to test the reasoning ability.
- Section C: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
- Verbal Ability – Questions will be asked to test the basic understanding of the English language.
- Reading Comprehension – Questions will be asked to test the ability to comprehend, interpret and infer from the given passage.
Eligibility Criteria for Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT)
Eligibility requirements
- Candidates should have passed the 10+2/XII/HSC examination in the arts/commerce/science stream or equivalent in the years 2022 and 2023 or appear in 2024. The candidate must have passed the class 10th examination in the year not before 2020. The IIMs (Bodh Gaya and Jammu) may have different eligibility requirements, the candidates are required to refer to the websites of IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu for this.
- The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the 10th and 12th standards would be calculated based on the Board’s regulations. If there is no such regulation regarding aggregate marks from the concerned board, then the aggregate marks of all the subjects that appear in the grade sheet should be considered for calculating the passing percentage
List of examinations equivalent to 10+2:
- Plus two level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) as well as the State Board of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects
Reservation
Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them by the rules prescribed by the Government of India. The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows:
- General category belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN- EWS) – 10% of seats in every course. The benefit of reservation will be given only to those General category candidates who satisfy the conditions given in the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The criteria for GEN-EWS will be as per the prevailing norms and/ or notifications of the Government of India.
- Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) – 27% of seats in every course.
- OBCs should be listed in the current updated central list of OBCs (http://www.ncbc.nic.in)
- OBCs present in the State list but not covered in the central list of OBCs (as per the list in http://www.ncbc.nic.in ) are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.
- The criteria for OBC-NCL will be as per the notification of the Government of India.
- Candidates belonging to the creamy layer of OBC are NOT entitled to reservation. Such candidates are treated as belonging to the general (GEN), i.e. unreserved category, and they will be eligible only for the OPEN seats – the seats for which all candidates are eligible.
- Scheduled Caste (SC) – 15% of seats in every course.
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 7.5% of seats in every course.
- Persons with Disability (PwD) – 5% seats in each of the GENERAL, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats.
- Candidates with at least 40% impairment irrespective of the type of disability shall be eligible for the benefits of the PwD category.
- Leprosy-cured candidates who are otherwise fit to pursue the courses are also included in this category.
- Candidates with less than 40% disability, but difficulty in writing, as prescribed by the Competent Authority, are also included in this category.
- For Candidates claiming to the GEN-EWS category
- Gen-EWS, SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates will be required to produce the original certificate as per prescribed formats issued by the competent authority at the time of the admission process failing which they will not be considered for admission.
